Our New York office seeks an attorney to join its Appellate Practice. The ideal candidate will have at least one to fifteen years of appellate experience, including a working knowledge of state and federal civil and appellate procedure, and excellent advocacy and writing skills. Admission to the New York Bar is required.

The national Appellate Practice handles matters in federal and state courts coast-to-coast, including in the Supreme Court of the United States. The team includes several board-certified appellate specialists and is familiar with local appellate court customs and procedures. The practice has generated hundreds of published appellate opinions and thousands of unpublished decisions, consistently securing significant victories each year in jurisdictions throughout the country.

Lawyers regularly handle a wide variety of civil appeals and extraordinary relief proceedings across many areas of law, including class action and mass tort, commercial litigation, construction, elder law, employment, healthcare, insurance coverage and bad faith, products liability, intellectual property, toxic torts/environmental litigation, and many others.

The successful candidate will have experience evaluating trial records, writing effective briefs, analyzing and framing factual and legal issues considering the appellate standard of review, conducting legal research, and presenting oral argument.

1–15 years of appellate experience
