An established UK insurance team is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its professional and commercial risk group in Newcastle. The role focuses on financial lines coverage work, particularly advising on Directors' & Officers' (D&O) insurance and related management liability matters.

You will handle a stimulating caseload of coverage and D&O matters, work closely with insurer clients, collaborate with specialists across practice areas (for example employment and regulatory teams), and support the continued development of the national professional indemnity offering. The team offers client-facing responsibility, technical development and opportunities to contribute to business growth.

Minimum 3 years PQE, ideally gained in a specialist insurance practice or in-house at a financial lines insurer
Practical experience advising on coverage under financial lines policies, preferably including D&O/management liability
Strong client-handling and relationship skills; comfortable dealing directly with insurer clients
Excellent drafting and legal analysis skills; able to produce clear coverage advice and reports
Commercial, client-focused approach and ability to work independently commensurate with experience
Team-oriented, flexible and open to change; willing to support business development and cross-team collaboration
