An Am Law 100 firm is seeking a mid-level corporate associate with a focus on debt financing to join its Toronto team.

The role sits within a broad corporate practice that advises clients on complex business transactions across commercial, financial, and industrial sectors, for both public and private enterprises. The successful candidate will work on a range of financing structures, including senior secured, mezzanine, acquisition, syndicated, construction, and real estate financing, advising Schedule I banks, institutional lenders, private credit funds, borrowers, developers, and private equity sponsors.

Collaboration is central to the team culture, and the firm encourages in-office work approximately 60% of the time in line with its published guidelines.

Canadian law degree (JD or LLB)
Licensed to practice in Ontario with 2–3 years of practice experience
Debt finance experience required; real estate security experience is an asset
Experience drafting and negotiating security agreements, guarantees, debentures, and other loan and security documents
Technology-forward approach to legal practice with daily proficiency in legal AI tools
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong professionalism, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and balance competing responsibilities
Ability to collaborate effectively in team settings
