Corporate M&A Associate — Jakarta

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Associate to join a market-leading M&A team within a global corporate practice, based in Jakarta. The role offers exposure to complex, high-profile domestic and cross-border corporate transactions on an international platform.

The successful candidate will advise domestic and international clients on public and private M&A, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and strategic investments, developing commercially pragmatic solutions that balance transaction risk, regulatory requirements, and execution certainty.

Working closely with partners and senior lawyers, the Associate will manage live transactions end to end — deal structuring, due diligence, documentation, negotiation, signing, and closing — and act as a key day-to-day contact for clients, counterparties, and their advisers.

• Experience in corporate M&A, including drafting and negotiating share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, shareholders' agreements, and joint venture agreements
• Strong legal due diligence skills, with the ability to synthesize findings into clear reports and risk matrices
• Familiarity with the Indonesian corporate and regulatory framework, including company law, foreign investment restrictions, capital markets and takeover rules, merger control, and sector-specific approvals
• Ability to coordinate across multiple jurisdictions and practice groups and to manage demanding transaction timelines
• Excellent communication and client-management skills, with strong commercial awareness
• Fluent in English; Indonesian language skills advantageous
