A leading law firm is seeking an employment and labor attorney with two to five years of sophisticated experience to join its Employment and Labor practice group. The role may be based in one of several offices in Southern California. Candidates coming off a clerkship or with less than one full year of experience should apply through the appropriate entry-level channel.

The position offers a broad mix of contentious and advisory employment work. On the litigation side, the attorney will handle case development, legal research and writing, all aspects of discovery, witness interviews and investigations, and brief writing. On the counseling side, the attorney will advise clients on employment policies and practices, statutory and regulatory compliance, and employment and separation agreements.

The firm values strong academic credentials, exceptional communication and legal writing skills, a high level of motivation and initiative, a willingness to train and mentor junior associates, and a strong work ethic.

Two to five years of broad employment law experience
Experience in case development, legal research and writing, discovery, witness interviews or investigations, and brief writing
Strong employment counseling skills, including policies and practices, statutory and regulatory compliance, and employment and separation agreements
Strong academic credentials and exceptional communication and legal writing skills
High motivation, initiative, and a strong work ethic; willingness to train and mentor junior associates
Current admittance to the California bar
