A global law firm that serves insurers and the London market is seeking attorneys to join its national and international insurance defense practice in its New York office. The role sits within the firm's insurance group and involves defending insurers and liability claims across a range of contested matters.

The position offers a strong platform for litigators with insurance defense experience, including the opportunity to handle matters from strategy through resolution. Responsibilities include proposing litigation strategy, communicating with clients and opposing counsel, drafting reports, pleadings, discovery, and motions, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and participating in mediations and trials.

The firm invests in professional development through business development training, dedicated associate and partner mentors, and a firm-wide associate committee. It offers a hybrid working pattern, annual performance-based raises, a discretionary bonus, and a benefits package, with a 1920-hour requirement. Compensation ranges from $125,000 to $185,000 annually, contingent on experience, practice group, location, and other job-related factors.

3+ years of relevant litigation experience
Strong background in construction defense on behalf of owners and contractors, including claims under New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240(1) and 241(6)
Additional experience in premises liability, professional liability, negligent security, wrongful death, automobile and sexual misconduct claims
Admitted and in good standing in New York; additional state admissions a plus
