A highly regarded US law firm seeks a mid-level licensing associate to join its Life Sciences group in Silicon Valley. The role focuses on intellectual property licensing, technology transfer and the full range of technology transactions for life sciences clients.

The associate will draft and negotiate IP licences (including patent and trademark licences), joint development, collaboration and strategic alliance agreements, technology licences and services agreements (such as SaaS), and distribution agreements. The position also involves IP and technology transaction due diligence in support of corporate transactions and technology transfers.

Candidates will work within teams and independently manage substantial components of transactions, in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

3–4 years of relevant experience in IP licensing, technology transfer and technology transactions, ideally within the life sciences sector
Experience drafting and negotiating IP licences, collaboration and strategic alliance agreements, technology and services agreements, and distribution agreements
Experience performing IP and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions and technology transfers
Outstanding academic credentials and comparable law firm experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Relevant bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly)
