An established law firm is seeking a lateral partner to join its San Francisco office, anchoring a practice spanning corporate transactions, intellectual property, and antitrust and competition. The role is designed for a partner with an existing, portable client following and the ability to operate as a standalone business generator.

The corporate side of the practice centers on mergers and acquisitions and private equity work, with an emphasis on middle-market and sponsor-driven transactions. The intellectual property component is weighted toward patent litigation, particularly in life sciences and technology sectors. Antitrust and competition work in this office is closely tied to the private equity and transactional practice, involving merger clearance, antitrust litigation, and competition counseling.

This is an opportunity to bring and grow a book of business within a platform that offers cross-disciplinary collaboration across corporate, IP, and antitrust teams. The firm operates a transparent, open compensation system for partners and is looking for a commercially driven lawyer with an existing portable practice.

• Partner-level experience with a portable, self-sustaining client following
• Portable book of business of $3M+ (USD)
• Background in corporate transactions (M&A, private equity) and/or patent litigation and/or antitrust and competition
• Admission to practice in the relevant US jurisdiction
• Demonstrated ability to originate and manage client relationships
