A leading US law firm is seeking a team-oriented partner or counsel to join its Energy practice group. This is a lateral opportunity open across multiple offices nationwide, offering flexibility in base location.
The role focuses on electric and gas matters, with an emphasis on FERC regulatory work, Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) issues, and transactional matters. The group advises clients on complex energy regulatory and commercial matters spanning several regional markets.
Candidates should bring an established, portable practice and a collaborative approach to client service. This is an excellent platform for an experienced energy practitioner looking to grow a practice within a comprehensive, multi-office firm.
- Portable book of business of $2M+ (USD)
- FERC regulatory experience
- RTO (Regional Transmission Organization) experience
- Transactional experience
- Experience with MISO, PJM, and/or SPP preferred
- Lobbying experience considered but not required
- Partner or counsel-level seniority
If the fit is not obvious on paper, it is usually still worth talking — the specification tends to follow the practice.
