Private Equity M&A – Mid/Senior Associate (New York)

A leading law firm is seeking a highly qualified associate with 3–6 years of experience to join its Private Equity group in New York.

The successful candidate will have experience working in teams and independently managing components of transactions across a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged recapitalizations, growth equity and venture capital transactions, and exits and equity compensation.

The ideal candidate will be proactive with strong business sense, stellar communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage internal and external client and counsel relationships in a collaborative, entrepreneurial atmosphere.

• 3–6 years of relevant corporate and transactional experience, ideally within private equity and M&A
• Experience managing components of transactions independently and working in teams
• Broad experience with mergers and acquisitions, leveraged recapitalizations, growth equity and venture capital transactions, and exits and equity compensation
• Outstanding academic credentials and comparable law firm experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong business sense and a proactive approach
• Relevant bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly) and a deal sheet required
