Senior Associate or Counsel – Aviation Finance & Leasing – New York

A leading law firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel to join its New York finance practice, focusing on aviation-related transactions. The role involves representing major banks, leasing companies, airlines, investors, traders and manufacturers across a broad range of aviation matters.

The practice handles financing (lending and capital markets), leasing, trading, restructuring and enforcement of aviation and related assets, as well as establishing joint ventures and other aircraft leasing platforms. The successful candidate will work with multiple internal and external clients and manage several matters simultaneously.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a cohesive team while working independently on high-value, complex aviation finance transactions.

• Familiarity with secured, unsecured and guaranteed financing transactions, including Article 9 of the UCC and the Cape Town Convention.
• Experience managing and closing $100+ million financing transactions.
• Experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements, indentures, leases, purchase agreements and related documentation.
• Ability to advise clients on document interpretation, both orally and in writing.
• Understanding of the aviation finance and leasing industry and related corporate matters.
• Large law firm experience with multiple client relationships and simultaneous matters.
• Strong academic background and exceptional drafting, negotiating and organizational skills.
• Admitted to and a member in good standing of the New York bar.
• Experience with export credit agency supported financing and capital markets transactions is helpful but not required.
