Experienced leveraged finance/private credit lawyer sought to join a national Finance & Financial Services practice. The role involves leading and managing complex sponsor-backed and private-credit transactions for financial institutions, private credit funds, BDCs and non-bank lenders in a fast-paced, high-performance team.

Work will include sponsor-backed acquisition financings, multi-lender/syndicated facilities, unitranche and first-out/last-out structures, mezzanine and subordinated debt, liability management exercises, refinancings and recapitalizations. You will interface directly with clients and opposing counsel and take ownership of transaction execution through closing.

This position is open across multiple U.S. offices and will require regular in-office attendance to support deal teams and client relationships.

  • 5–7 years' post-qualification experience in leveraged finance / private credit and complex debt transactions.
  • Significant experience representing lenders and private-credit sponsors on multi-lender, unitranche/FOL/FILO, mezzanine and LME transactions.
  • Strong drafting skills (credit agreements, security documents, intercreditors, commitment papers) and commercial judgment.
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school; admission to the bar in one or more of the listed U.S. jurisdictions preferred (FL, NY, MA, IL, GA, NC, TX) or eligibility to become licensed/transfer.
  • Must reside in the Chicago area at or prior to time of hire and be prepared to work in the office at least three business days per week.
