Apply in confidence →Senior associate opportunity within a major international firm’s Real Estate team based in Melbourne. The role focuses on transactional and land-tenure work for large-scale projects and on real estate issues arising in M&A and insolvency matters, with regular collaboration across jurisdictions.
Day-to-day responsibilities include managing due diligence and registration/conveyancing processes, drafting and negotiating contracts (sale, lease and related documents), interpreting relevant legislation and regulations, and coordinating with banks, registries, councils, surveyors and external advisers.
The role offers exposure to cross-border matters through liaison with the firm’s global real estate network and involvement in significant infrastructure, energy and development projects.
- Admission in Australia, or Common Law qualified and willing to qualify in Australia
- 4–6 years' post-qualification experience in real estate law
- Strong understanding of Australian real estate regulatory and land tenure requirements
- Experience with registration/settlement processes (PEXA familiarity preferred)
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills; attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritise work and maintain client focus; strong team player
