Senior Associate / Special Counsel, Medical Malpractice - Melbourne

Join a well-established Australian insurance defence team in Melbourne focusing on medical negligence and professional liability work. The team acts for medical defence organisations, insurers, hospitals, doctors and allied health professionals across defended claims, disciplinary matters and coronial work.

This role is suited to an experienced senior associate or special counsel keen to take a clear next step in their career, mentor junior lawyers and contribute to business development. The team supports flexible working arrangements.

• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in a defendant insurance practice
• Prior medical negligence experience essential
• Strong written and verbal advocacy and drafting skills
• Proven attention to detail and strong organisational ability
• Demonstrated willingness to mentor junior team members and assist with business development
• Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team environment
