Exciting Senior Associate / Special Counsel opportunity in a leading global tax practice based in Sydney. The role will focus on Australian indirect taxes (particularly GST and stamp duty) alongside land tax and customs duty, advising multinational and domestic clients on planning, transactions and disputes.

You will work on cross-border, multijurisdictional matters alongside corporate, real estate, employment, banking & finance and litigation teams, with regular collaboration across international offices. The team supports professional development including formal study support, international secondments and a mentoring culture.

Significant experience in Australian indirect taxes, with strong experience in GST and stamp duty; exposure to land tax and customs duty advantageous
Prior experience at a top‑tier or international law firm preferred
Strong technical, drafting and commercial skills with excellent analytical and research ability
Client‑facing experience, business development aptitude and the ability to build and manage client relationships
Excellent communication, teamwork and mentoring skills; commitment to high standards and attention to detail
