A leading international law firm
Apply in confidence →We are looking to strengthen our national Regulatory SHE team, with a particular focus on the Midlands or Wales, due to growing client and case demands. You will join a team of over 30 specialist lawyers advising individuals and organisations facing criminal investigations for corporate manslaughter, gross negligence manslaughter, and breaches of regulatory law relating to health and safety, fire safety, food safety and environmental law. The team also advises on product safety, representations to clients involved in inquests, and Public Inquiries.
The practice is instructed in a number of high-profile cases and investigations, with a diverse client base spanning major industries and their insurers. You will work on a varied contentious and non-contentious caseload, acting as a client point of contact and assisting with business development, including pitches, presentations and training. Lawyers across the team are empowered to develop their own client relationships from the outset, and you will work alongside complementary practice groups where sector knowledge adds value.
This is an opportunity to enjoy industry-leading work quality without compromising on client contact and business development, supported by an international firm with a broad network and a collaborative, open culture.
- At least 5 years' PQE gained in a regulatory and/or commercially focused environment, in private practice or elsewhere.
- Experience of regulatory work including HSE/Police investigations, witness interviews, interviews under caution, prosecutions, sentencing hearings and inquests.
- Experience of preparing PACE submissions to regulators and providing non-contentious compliance advice.
- Exposure to areas such as vehicle operator licensing, environmental breaches, trading standards, product safety, food safety or fire safety would be beneficial.
- Experience of business development and building client relationships.
- Willingness to travel at short notice to assist clients managing situations as they arise; a driving licence is required.
