A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced solicitor or senior associate to join its Band 1 ranked Competition, Regulation and Trade practice. The role is open to candidates in Sydney or Melbourne and forms part of a close-knit national and global team.

The team advises many of Australia's and the world's leading organisations across the full spectrum of competition, consumer law and regulatory work, including cartel and behavioural investigations, litigation, merger clearances and regulatory advice. Clients span telecommunications, technology, energy and natural resources, financial institutions, infrastructure, transport, manufacturing and retail.

This is an opportunity to work on the most high-profile and complex matters in the field, with deep sector expertise in energy, resources and industrials, and to contribute to a practice recognised as market leading in Australia and across Asia.

Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a leading competition law team, or relevant regulator experience in Australia
In-depth experience across competition and consumer law matters, particularly merger clearances, with a keen interest in developing expertise in the new merger control regime
Excellent academic record and a commitment to continuous learning
Strong communication skills and the ability to supervise and develop junior lawyers
Ability to work to tight timeframes both collaboratively and autonomously
Curiosity about clients' businesses and a commitment to strengthening client and stakeholder relationships
Innovative mindset, with interest in AI and emerging technologies
