A leading international law firm seeks a solicitor to join its market-leading trade marks team, working from either its Melbourne or Sydney office. The role sits within a tight-knit group of specialists who have collaborated closely for over a decade and work alongside the broader IP disputes practice.

The position offers exposure to national and international clients on the full spectrum of trade mark work, including filing and prosecution, portfolio management, rebranding and clearance advice, and drafting and negotiating consents and co-existence agreements. The successful candidate will also advise on IP aspects of due diligence and support trade mark and domain name disputes, with opportunities to work on licensing and other commercial agreements that help clients maximise the value of their IP assets.

3+ years of demonstrable trade mark prosecution experience from a leading national or international private practice or in-house environment
Admission as a lawyer in Australia or New Zealand
Excellent academic record with strong legal skills and a practical mindset
Proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work to tight timeframes both in a team and autonomously
Excellent communication skills and a genuine hunger to learn and develop within a market-leading practice
An innovative mindset and curiosity about AI and emerging technologies
