Special Counsel, Casualty & Liability — Sydney

A global law firm is seeking a Special Counsel to join its established and growing casualty and liability practice in Sydney. The team acts for domestic and international insurers across a broad spectrum of liability and insurance matters.

The role offers exposure to a diverse mix of public and product liability, professional indemnity, property damage, catastrophic claims and general insurance litigation, with opportunities to work on marine and aviation matters where they arise.

You will work directly with sophisticated insurer clients, manage complex and high-value matters, and play a key role in mentoring and developing junior lawyers. The team comprises Special Counsel, Senior Associates and Associates, supported by dedicated paralegals and legal secretaries.

• Extensive experience in liability, casualty or general insurance litigation
• Strong litigation experience across State and Federal Courts
• Confidence managing complex matters autonomously
• A collaborative approach with an interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers
• Commercial acumen and a genuine interest in building long-term client relationships
