Well-established international law firm is seeking a non-partnership track Trademark, Copyright & Media Attorney to join its US Intellectual Property practice. The role is open to multiple US offices with a preference for Washington, D.C., Chicago, or San Francisco; candidates in other listed US locations will also be considered.

The position focuses on counseling clients on advertising and marketing campaigns, brand partnerships, media and technology matters, and the development, protection and enforcement of trademark and copyright assets. Work will include drafting and negotiating commercial and IP agreements, conducting clearance analyses and providing strategic trademark and copyright advice for consumer-facing clients.

This is a hands-on transactional role that involves collaboration across practices on commercial, technology and media-related transactions and supporting high-profile brand and marketing initiatives.

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice in the jurisdiction of the office to which you apply
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience handling transactional trademark, copyright, advertising, marketing and commercial counseling matters
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial, marketing and IP agreements (licenses, co-branding, sponsorships, influencer/talent, content and marketing agreements)
  • Experience with trademark clearance, prosecution strategy, portfolio management, and copyright licensing/ownership issues
  • Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills and ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
