Top-tier U.S. employment & labor practice seeks a Traditional Labor Associate to join its Kansas City office. The role is employer‑side and focused on management labor relations work across the full range of NLRA matters.

Typical responsibilities include handling unfair labor practice charges and NLRB elections, advising on union organizing and corporate campaigns, negotiating and counseling on collective bargaining agreements, managing grievance and arbitration proceedings, seeking injunctive relief when needed, and delivering management training on labor issues. The position may occasionally involve advice on other state workplace laws as assignments require.

This is a hybrid role that may require periodic business travel. The hiring group values candidates with strong written and oral advocacy, attention to detail, and effective project-management skills.

  • JD from an ABA‑accredited law school
  • Minimum 2 years of traditional labor/management relations experience (NLRB, collective bargaining, grievance/arbitration)
  • Licensed to practice in Missouri
  • Familiarity with NLRB procedures and state/federal agency enforcement techniques
  • Strong written and oral communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel periodically; comfortable delivering management training
