Venture & Growth Finance Associate

An Am Law 20 firm is seeking a finance associate to join its Venture & Growth subgroup, with flexibility to sit in San Diego, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. The role focuses on lender-side representation in commercial finance matters, working with banks and private credit funds on loans to technology, life sciences, and middle market companies.

The associate will manage complex domestic and cross-border finance transactions from inception through closing and post-closing, including due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, structuring, and coordinating deal execution. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across offices.

Candidates should have a minimum of two years of lender-side finance experience, preferably representing banks and/or private credit funds, and must be admitted to practice in the relevant jurisdiction. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package and a salary range of $235,000–$260,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

• Minimum of two years of lender-side representation for commercial finance matters.
• Experience representing banks and/or private credit funds on loans to technology, life sciences, and/or middle market companies preferred.
• Admitted to practice in the state in which officing.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with sound professional judgment and organizational skills.
• Direct and applicable Am Law 100 firm experience.
