An opportunity has arisen for a mid-level associate to join two highly regarded, internationally active practice groups at a leading firm's Montréal office: fund formation and capital raising, and mergers and acquisitions.

The groups advise both fund sponsors and institutional investors on structuring, negotiating and investing across a range of fund types — including private equity, private credit, impact/social-purpose, retail-focused, venture capital and infrastructure funds — as well as co-investment transactions. The teams also regularly represent private equity firms and institutional investors in private acquisition and equity transactions across multiple sectors.

The successful candidate will work closely with specialists across a large platform and serve clients from a broad range of industries.

3–5 years of experience in fund formation (institutional or retail funds) or M&A, ideally with exposure to the investment funds sector
Applications also welcome from candidates with strong securities regulatory experience who wish to develop private fund formation expertise
Comfortable advising clients across a wide range of sectors
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic environment
A collaborative team approach, positive attitude and strong professional ethic
Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec, or willing to become one
