Apply in confidence →Top-tier law firm seeking an associate to join a CFIUS, export controls, and government contracts practice in the Washington office. The role involves counseling on foreign investment national security reviews, outbound investment screening, export-control compliance, and related regulatory matters.
Work will include supporting transactions and structured investments, advising on interactions with U.S. agencies, and assisting with internal investigations and government-contracts issues. Candidates will join a cross-disciplinary team handling complex, policy-driven matters.
- 2–6 years post-qualification experience in CFIUS, export controls, international trade, government contracts, or closely related areas
- Strong academic record from an accredited law school and excellent research and writing skills
- Experience or demonstrable interest in CFIUS and the Outbound Investment Security Program (OISP)
- Experience with or interest in BIS, DDTC, OFAC, DCSA, and related regulatory engagement
- Experience or willingness to develop transactional (M&A/structured investments) and internal-investigation capabilities
- Admission to practice in the United States (or pending admission)
