A leading US law firm is seeking an associate to join its CFIUS, Trade Controls & Government Contracts practice in Washington, DC. The role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge national security and international trade matters, including CFIUS and the Outbound Investment Security Program (OISP), as well as related areas such as export controls, government contracts, and internal investigations.

The ideal candidate will have two to six years of experience and a strong interest in developing expertise in transactional support, including M&A and structured investments. Experience with or interest in working with key government agencies such as BIS, DDTC, OFAC, and DCSA is highly valued. This is a dynamic practice that sits at the intersection of regulatory compliance, national security, and complex transactions.

2–6 years of experience (law firm or relevant government agency)
High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school
Experience or strong interest in CFIUS and the Outbound Investment Security Program (OISP)
Willingness to develop expertise in government contracts, export controls, and internal investigations
Interest in transactional support (M&A and structured investments)
Specific experience with BIS, DDTC, OFAC, or DCSA is a plus
