Apply in confidence →Leading national practice seeks a 2–3 year associate to join its Executive Compensation & Benefits group. The role is flexible across multiple West Coast offices; candidates may indicate a preferred office.
The successful candidate will advise public and private employers on ERISA and employee benefits matters, with work spanning qualified retirement plan administration and governance (401(k), defined benefit), health and welfare plan design and compliance, ERISA fiduciary counseling, prohibited transaction analysis, IRS and DOL audits, EPCRS submissions, Form 5500 reporting, vendor agreement review, and transaction-related benefits issues.
Expect a fast-paced, collaborative environment; strong client-service orientation, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing deadlines are essential.
- Juris Doctor (or foreign equivalent); LLM may be considered in lieu of a JD
- 2–3 years of relevant post-qualification experience advising on executive compensation, ERISA, and employee benefits
- Prior or current experience at a national Am Law 100 firm preferred
- Bar admission and good standing in the jurisdiction(s) of practice
- Excellent academic record, strong legal research and writing, and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across offices and to handle extended hours when required
