New York office of a leading international law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Investment Funds practice with a focus on private equity and alternative asset strategies. The role centres on fund formation, primary and secondary investments, GP-stakes and related investment management matters for sophisticated sponsor and institutional investor clients.

You will draft and negotiate fund documents, side letters and investment agreements, advise on structuring and regulatory/SEC issues, and take ownership of substantial drafting and deal execution tasks. Matters are often cross-border and integrated with tax, finance and M&A teams.

The team emphasises mentorship, early responsibility and career development within a busy, collaborative private funds platform serving global clients.

Juris Doctor (or foreign equivalent) and admission to the New York bar (or eligibility)
Approximately 3 years' PQE in private funds, investment management or related transactional work
Practical experience with private fund formation, primary/secondary transactions and investor-side work
Strong drafting, negotiation and project-management skills; comfort with cross-border matters and regulatory/SEC issues
Commercial awareness, excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively on integrated, multi-jurisdictional matters
