Nationally recognized capital markets team seeks an associate with substantial experience on sophisticated corporate finance matters, with an emphasis on public securities offerings under the Securities Act of 1933 and related SEC work under the Exchange Act.

Successful candidates will work on a diverse slate of transactional matters across industry groups (including energy, financial services, real estate investment & finance, and retail/consumer) and collaborate with partners, counsel and associates across multiple offices. This role may be based in the firm's Washington, DC or Richmond offices.

Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Admission in the jurisdiction of hire is preferred and must be obtained within one year of joining.

3–5 years of capital markets / securities transactional experience, including public offerings (Securities Act of 1933)
Experience advising public companies under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 preferred
Strong academic record, excellent analytical and written/verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively across offices and industry groups
Licensed in the hiring jurisdiction preferred; required within one year of start
