We are seeking a non-client-facing Capital Markets Resource Attorney to join a leading global law firm’s highly ranked Capital Markets practice group in Chicago. This role is designed to support the practice’s knowledge management, business development, and professional development efforts rather than to bill client time.

The resource attorney will stay current on all legal and regulatory developments relevant to capital markets, including SEC reporting and corporate governance matters, and will help develop and maintain client alerts, white papers, external-facing tools, internal know-how resources, and practice forms and templates. The position also involves coordinating speaking engagements, webinars, and training, working with marketing on branding and RFP responses, and collaborating with information services and practice innovation teams to assess and adopt technologies that improve efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a licensed attorney with at least five years of experience representing issuers and investment banks in capital markets transactions, a strong understanding of corporate governance and SEC reporting requirements, and familiarity with the technology and life sciences industries. This is a collaborative, self-starter role that offers the opportunity to shape the practice’s knowledge infrastructure and support its continued market leadership.

  • Licensed attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience representing issuers and investment banks in capital markets transactions
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance and SEC reporting requirements and related matters
  • Knowledge of the technology and life sciences industries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and drafting skills
  • Confident and engaging presenter with strong interpersonal and technical skills
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills and attention to detail
  • Team player with enthusiasm to learn as the practice, regulatory environment, and technology evolve
