An international law firm is expanding its US employment practice and seeks an Employment Associate to join its close-knit, dynamic team in San Francisco. The role focuses on counselling rather than litigation, making it ideal for an employment lawyer who wants to build a career advising founders, CEOs, and other executives as well as employers across the employee life-cycle.

The practice supports start-ups, established businesses, and international clients on the full range of employment issues, working alongside corporate, technology, private wealth, and other teams to provide full-service representation. You will be part of a group that is scaling nationally and globally, with a strong emphasis on mentoring and developing associates.

The successful candidate will play a key role in building this practice, working directly with senior leaders in the US and internationally. This is a hybrid role based in a West Coast office with regular in-office attendance.

  • J.D. and strong academic credentials.
  • 3–5 years of experience practising in a law firm's employment group.
  • Bar membership in good standing in California (other states considered).
  • Background in employment law counselling relating to management across all stages of the employee life-cycle, including drafting agreements and employment documents.
  • Experience advising employers on multi-state compliance with federal, state, and local laws preferred.
  • Excellent drafting, writing, research, and communication skills, with strong project management and attention to detail.
  • Team player with intellectual curiosity and the ability to balance competing priorities.
