Short-term (4–5 month), full-time hybrid legal consultant role in Perth with a major organisation in the resources sector. The engagement sits within an in-house style advisory capacity supporting senior stakeholders on complex employee relations matters.

The role requires a hands-on employment lawyer able to advise across the full employee lifecycle, engage with regulators, monitor legislative change and update policy and procedures. You will work autonomously, liaise with multiple internal teams and manage external-facing issues.

  • Minimum 6 years' post-qualification employment/industrial relations experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, modern awards, discrimination laws and workplace health & safety obligations
  • Proven experience managing complex employment matters in large organisations and engagement with regulators (e.g. Fair Work Ombudsman, industrial tribunal)
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders, simplify risk, draft/update policy and work autonomously in a fast-moving environment
  • Right to work in Australia; current practising certificate not essential
