Apply in confidence →Seeking an associate to join a national energy practice focused on regulatory and compliance matters. This role supports matters before state utility commissions and organized power markets, working with the firm's Energy & Natural Resources team.
Position is open to candidates based in Texas and may be filled from multiple offices or a virtual office. The successful candidate will handle regulatory filings, advocacy before state commissions, and matters involving ISO/RTOs and power-market structures, with occasional work on power transactions.
- 4–6 years' relevant experience in energy regulation or utilities law
- Active Texas bar license and residence in Texas
- Experience before the Texas Public Utility Commission and with ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs
- Familiarity with power transactions (sales, M&A, related agreements) and regulatory advocacy
- Strong academic credentials, excellent judgment, and the ability to manage multiple matters under pressure
