A leading law firm is seeking a mid-level licensing associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its Life Sciences group in Washington, DC.

The role focuses on intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and other technology transactions, along with IP support for corporate transactions in the life sciences arena. Fluency in Mandarin is required, and prior experience working in Asia is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will handle drafting and negotiating intellectual property licenses (including patent and trademark licenses), joint development, collaboration and strategic alliance agreements, technology licenses and services agreements (including software-as-a-service agreements), and distribution agreements, as well as performing intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence.

Candidates must be comfortable working in teams and independently managing substantial components of transactions.

3–5 years of PQE in life sciences licensing and technology transactions
Fluency in Mandarin required; experience working in Asia strongly preferred
Experience in intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and corporate transaction IP/technology due diligence
Experience drafting and negotiating IP licenses, joint development, collaboration, strategic alliance, technology, services (including SaaS) and distribution agreements
Outstanding academic credentials and comparable law firm experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Relevant bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly)
