A large international law firm is seeking a skilled commercial litigation associate with 2–4 years of post-qualification experience to join its litigation department in Seattle. The associate will work on complex, high-stakes matters alongside senior attorneys in a collaborative, team-driven environment.

The role centres on fast-moving, deadline-sensitive litigation, including disputes involving non-compete covenants and the protection of trade secrets, where the team represents both plaintiffs and defendants. Associates take on meaningful responsibility, including drafting and arguing contested motions and working closely with expert witnesses.

The firm offers a competitive salary and benefits package, along with structured professional development programming, mentoring, and hands-on learning opportunities with partners. This is a hybrid position based in Seattle.

  • 2–4 years of complex commercial litigation experience at a law firm; trial experience advantageous
  • Experience preparing and arguing pleadings and contested motions (e.g., motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, TRO and preliminary injunction applications)
  • Experience taking and defending depositions and working with expert witnesses
  • Interest in fast-paced, deadline-driven matters such as non-compete and trade secret litigation
  • Stellar writing ability and strong academic credentials (two writing samples required)
  • Strong analytical and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Admission to the Washington State Bar required
