Managing Associate — Health & Safety — London

Senior role within a market-leading Health & Safety practice advising on regulatory investigations, prosecutions and related advisory work. The team handles high‑profile and complex matters including workplace fatalities, inquests, corporate manslaughter, environmental offences and enforcement actions by HSE, local authorities, fire authorities, the Environment Agency and other regulators.

The role offers hands-on exposure to cross‑agency and multi‑jurisdictional investigations, crisis management after serious incidents, and advising corporate dutyholders across sectors such as construction, real estate, healthcare, retail and leisure. You'll work closely with colleagues across employment, corporate and reputation teams to provide integrated client support.

The successful candidate will support partners in delivering strategic advice in investigations and prosecutions, manage matters from opening to billing and supervise junior fee‑earners while contributing to business development and sector practice growth.

• 5–7 years' PQE in health & safety and/or criminal defence at a leading practice
• Practical experience of regulatory and/or police investigations and courtroom experience (Magistrates' and/or Crown Court preferred)
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, inquests and corporate manslaughter law
• Proven ability to supervise junior team members and manage cases end‑to‑end, including billing/financial discipline
• Excellent drafting, commercial awareness and ability to advise effectively to senior clients and executives
• Resilient, confident communicator with strong organisational and business‑development instincts
