Apply in confidence →Fast-growing IP team is seeking a technically trained patent agent/advisor to support patent counseling, prosecution, and litigation across software and AI matters. The role involves conducting prior-art and freedom-to-operate searches, analyzing technical literature, drafting patent applications and office-action responses, and advising attorneys on technical issues for litigation and depositions.
Ideal candidates will have a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field and substantive industry experience in software or AI/ML. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with attorneys and technologists are essential.
Support is available for patent-agent candidates, including law school tuition assistance. The team offers a competitive benefits package and a hybrid/multi-office U.S. working environment.
- Degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical field
- Broad scientific knowledge in computer science or electrical engineering; expertise in artificial intelligence / machine learning strongly preferred
- Experience with prior-art searching, patent drafting, and preparing responses to office actions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to work collaboratively with legal teams
- Eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam and meet requirements for registration as a patent agent
