We are seeking a highly motivated patent agent or advisor with a substantive industry background in software, computer science, or a related field to join a busy patent counseling, prosecution, and litigation practice. The role offers broad exposure across the patent lifecycle and the chance to work alongside attorneys on sophisticated technology matters.

Responsibilities include conducting prior art database searches for patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses, analyzing patents and scientific literature to support prosecution, counseling, and litigation, drafting patent applications and responses to office actions, and advising lawyers on technical issues in preparation for depositions.

The position is open across multiple U.S. offices. The firm offers law school tuition assistance for patent agent candidates, a comprehensive benefits package, generous parental leave and fertility benefits, and four weeks of vacation plus two weeks of sick time and ten paid holidays annually. The expected annual pay range is $125,000–$228,000, with final offers dependent on geographic location, experience, and skillset.

Substantive industry experience and a degree in software, computer science, or a related field
Broad scientific knowledge in computer science or electrical engineering
Expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning strongly preferred
Superb technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English
Eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam and otherwise qualified for registration as a patent agent
Initiative, fast learning ability, and strong collaboration skills
