Patent Agent / Patent Associate — Intellectual Property (Austin)

Mid-level Patent Agent / Patent Associate opportunity in a busy IP practice in Austin. The role focuses on strategic development, procurement, and counseling of patent portfolios across a range of industries, with a strong emphasis on software-related technologies.

Work will include drafting and prosecuting patent applications and interacting directly with clients. The team combines a strong local presence with national and international resources to support complex IP matters.

• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
• Approximately 3+ years of focused patent prosecution experience (mid-level)
• Proven experience drafting complex software-related patent applications (AI/ML, web apps, FinTech, telecommunications, integrated circuits, etc.)
• Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent technical background preferred
• Strong writing, analytical skills, and client-facing experience
