An ambitious Corporate Senior Associate is sought to join a successful, supportive national corporate team based in Birmingham, with hybrid working available. This is a market-facing role within the regional corporate practice, offering the opportunity to handle and support others on a broad range of matters including mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, exits and portfolio instructions, equity capital markets transactions, joint ventures and reorganisations.

The role involves managing transactions and taking ownership of matters, as well as working closely with a partner on more complex and high-value work. There is a clear pathway to partnership for the right candidate, with structured career development and a business development coaching programme for future partners. Networking and building connections in the local corporate finance market is encouraged and supported at all levels.

The team is part of a 70-lawyer national corporate group that advises clients across the UK and regularly on transactions with an international angle. Clients span diverse sectors including manufacturing, retail, recruitment and education. The firm offers a comprehensive training programme, technical support via a corporate PSL team, a substantial precedent bank, and a transparent promotion process within an ambitious and fast-growing professional services business.

At least 5 years' PQE with experience of a broad range of corporate matters
Experience in managing or keenness to manage transactions
Demonstrable legal technical ability and confidence to offer commercial advice
Effective management of colleague and client relationships
Ability and willingness to learn, commercial acumen and good negotiation skills
Personable and dynamic personality with drive to succeed and develop, and a passion for working collaboratively
Responsibility for mentoring junior members of the team
