A leading global law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its premier, Band 1 Corporate M&A team in Sydney. The practice is consistently recognised among the top-ranked M&A teams in Australia and offers exposure to some of the highest-profile and most complex deals in the market.

The role involves working across the full range of corporate transactions, including public and private M&A (schemes of arrangement and takeovers) and cross-border matters. You will act as lead lawyer on transactions — drafting and negotiating key documents, advising clients on legal risk, and project-managing deals to tight deadlines while coordinating with other legal teams, offices and advisers to deliver an integrated service.

Beyond transactional work, the position includes managing and building external client relationships, supporting business development for key existing and new clients, and mentoring junior solicitors in the team. Admission to practice as a lawyer in Australia, New Zealand or England.
Strong experience as a Senior Associate on M&A transactions.
Strong academic record with excellent technical legal and drafting skills and a commercial approach.
Ability to comprehend complex legal matters and work effectively within tight timeframes, both collaboratively and autonomously.
Demonstrated passion for supervising and mentoring others and contributing to a strong team culture.
