Senior Associate, Intellectual Property (Chemistry)

Experienced IP associate needed to join a national intellectual property practice focused on chemistry-related technologies. The role offers work across patent prosecution and patent litigation, including drafting and prosecuting chemical and materials patent applications and supporting enforcement/defense matters.

This position is open to candidates in multiple U.S. offices (Boston, Denver, New York, Palo Alto or Washington, D.C.). You will collaborate with cross-office teams on technically sophisticated matters and may be asked to provide law school and technical-transcript documentation as part of the application.

• Advanced technical background in chemistry (Ph.D., MSc, or strong industrial/academic experience)
• Significant experience in patent prosecution and familiarity supporting patent litigation matters involving chemical inventions
• Strong drafting and claim‑construction skills; experience with USPTO practice and procedures
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills and ability to work on multidisciplinary client teams
