A growing charities and not‑for‑profit team is seeking a senior lawyer to join its Bristol office. The team advises charities and not‑for‑profits across health & social care, education and broader charitable sectors on strategy, governance, regulatory and commercial matters.

The role will carry a substantive own client caseload and involve supporting the lead lawyer on larger matters. Typical work includes trustee duties and governance advice, charity start‑ups and registrations, constitutional reviews, regulatory and Charity Commission work, mergers and transactions, grant and fundraising matters, and charity trading and subsidiary arrangements.

The post will also contribute to business development and tender work, and will involve supervising and mentoring more junior team members.

Proven client relationship and handling skills; able to manage day‑to‑day matters with professional autonomy.
Strong technical knowledge of charity law and governance with the ability to work through complex issues.
Comfortable supervising, coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
Exposure to and success in business development and client marketing activities.
Confident communicator with strong drafting and advisory skills.
In‑house charity experience will be considered.
Flexible on location.
