Senior Attorney, Venture Capital Debt Finance — New York

Top-tier law firm seeks a senior attorney to join its Venture Capital Debt practice within the broader Debt Finance group in New York. The role focuses on representing borrowers and investor-side parties in venture debt, growth capital and related financings for early- and late-stage companies.

Responsibilities include negotiating and drafting loan and collateral documents, advising on transaction structure, supporting deal execution, and developing and maintaining internal forms and AI-assisted markups of term sheets, credit agreements, certificates and other credit deliverables. The role involves close collaboration with M&A, corporate and practice groups serving emerging companies and life sciences clients.

The firm looks for candidates with excellent academics, strong drafting and communication skills, and prompt eligibility for bar admission in the New York office. The expected salary range for this role is $250,000–$350,000 (commensurate with experience).

• Substantial experience representing borrowers and/or investors in venture debt, growth capital or similar financings.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate loan agreements, collateral documents, certificates and related credit deliverables.
• Experience working with cross-practice teams (M&A, corporate, emerging companies, life sciences) on transactional matters.
• Familiarity with developing and maintaining form documents and using AI-driven tools or models to support document markups.
• Outstanding academic record, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and bar admission (or immediate eligibility) in New York.
