A large UK employment, pensions and immigration practice is seeking an Associate to join its established Newcastle upon Tyne team. The team advises a broad range of market-leading employers across financial services, healthcare and the commercial sector, and holds top-tier rankings in major legal directories.

Working within a substantial regional and national employment group, the role offers a varied diet of contentious and non-contentious work for public, private and third-sector employers. The team handles a high volume of employment tribunal claims annually and is recognised for its strength in the health and independent health sectors, alongside significant corporate clients.

This is a hands-on position with real scope for client contact, business development and mentoring of junior colleagues, supported by close working relationships across the firm's northern offices.

Solicitor with around 4+ years' post-qualification experience from a respondent-focused employment practice (strong candidates at other levels considered)
Experience of tribunal claims and other contentious employment matters
Experience of non-contentious work, ideally including TUPE, organisational change and collective consultation
Experience advising large institutional employers in heavily regulated sectors is advantageous
Good academic record with the ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision
Strong communication, business development and client relationship skills
