Associate, Mergers & Acquisitions — Tokyo

Senior associate role within a global M&A practice, supporting complex cross-border public and private transactions. You will work on deal execution including due diligence, drafting transaction documents (term sheets, purchase agreements and related filings), and coordinating multi-jurisdictional teams and local counsel.

The role involves contributing to transaction strategy, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and supervising or mentoring more junior lawyers. Strong client-service focus and commercial awareness are essential.

• Admission in Japan
• 4–8 years PQE in corporate M&A (public and private transactions)
• Experience at a Japanese or international law firm
• Fluent Japanese and English (verbal and written)
• Proven ability to manage multiple matters under pressure and meet deadlines
• Team player with experience coaching junior lawyers and working with cross-border teams
