Associate — Restructuring (Finance) — New York

A major international finance practice in New York is seeking an associate with restructuring experience to join its restructuring and special situations team. The group advises a broad range of stakeholders in complex domestic and cross-border restructurings, in-court bankruptcies, and out-of-court workouts.

Work includes liability management, distressed and new-money financings, debt-to-equity swaps, distressed M&A, creditor negotiations and governance matters. The role offers exposure to multi-disciplinary teams across tax, M&A, capital markets, private equity and other finance practices.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial restructuring, bankruptcy or related workouts
• Experience with in-court restructurings and out-of-court liability management or distressed financings
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills; comfort with complex capital structures and creditor stakeholders
• Ability to work collaboratively across practice groups and manage client-facing responsibilities
