Bankruptcy Associate — Chapter 11, Chicago

A mid-level associate position on a busy restructuring and insolvency team in Chicago. The role focuses on Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters, representing debtors, creditors and committees in complex reorganizations and related contested proceedings.

Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings and disclosure documents, conducting legal research, preparing for and participating in hearings, managing discovery, and advising clients on restructuring strategy and plan confirmation. You will work closely with senior litigators and restructuring partners on fast-paced cases with significant court interaction.

• Juris Doctor and admission to the Illinois bar or ability to become admitted
• 4–7 years of bankruptcy/Chapter 11 experience at a law firm or US bankruptcy practice
• Proven experience drafting pleadings, motions, disclosure statements and plan documents
• Comfort with courtroom hearings, creditor negotiations and case management in Chapter 11 proceedings
