An ambitious Solicitor is sought to join a growing Property Recoveries team in Belfast. This is a predominantly plaintiff-side role, acting for a range of commercial organisations — principally insurers — and providing practical, expert advice across several claim types.

Matters will include subrogated property recoveries (pursuing repair costs for damage to commercial and household property and motor vehicles), uninsured loss recoveries, recovery of overpayments and duplicate payments, property damage defence, and property damage indemnity.

You will manage your own caseload of pre-litigated and litigated recovery, defence and indemnity files while supervising junior colleagues and supporting the team manager and other paralegals and trainee solicitors. The role sits within a supportive team at an ambitious firm, with genuine scope to develop your career.

Qualified Solicitor, preferably Northern Irish qualified
Ideally experienced in property damage or litigation; willingness to learn the technical aspects of property damage investigation
Commercial approach to claims settlement rather than an academic one
Confident client engagement, in person and virtually
IT literate; experience with a case management system an advantage
Sound understanding of commercial management and financial delivery, with evidence of personal financial performance
Strong compliance with client SLAs, protocols and KPIs
Able to motivate and support colleagues at all levels, manage multiple deadlines, and communicate confidently in writing and orally
Keen eye for detail and accurate data provision
