Experienced employee benefits attorney role on a national compensation & benefits team based in San Diego. The position focuses on tax-qualified retirement plans and health & welfare plan matters, including ERISA compliance, plan design, administration, and regulatory counseling.

Work will include drafting plan documents and disclosures, handling compliance testing and IRS/DOL filings and audits, advising on benefit issues in M&A and other transactions, and managing correction matters. ESOP and plan-asset experience is a plus.

Minimum 6 years of post-qualification ERISA/employee benefits experience advising on tax‑qualified retirement and health & welfare plans
Experience with plan design, administration, drafting plan documents and disclosures, compliance testing, and IRS and DOL filings/audits
Experience counseling on benefit issues in M&A and other transactions; ESOP and plan-asset exposure a plus
Excellent academic record with superior writing, oral communication and analytical skills
