Managing Associate — Employment & Labor — Belfast

We are seeking a Managing Associate to join a top-ranked employment practice in Belfast. The team advises UK and multinational employers on the full spectrum of employment matters, from day-to-day HR queries through to high-value litigation and complex cross-border projects.

The role offers exposure to a genuinely broad practice: general employment advisory work, Employment Tribunal and High Court litigation, restrictive covenant and confidential information disputes, trade union and collective issues, transactional support (including due diligence and TUPE), atypical working, global mobility, reward, health and safety, and senior executive matters. The team also has a strong Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland focus, alongside a significant international dimension, and handles precedent-setting cases.

You will take real responsibility for your own work output, deal directly with clients, and supervise junior lawyers. The firm sets clear career benchmarks at each level and expects active involvement in business development and client relationship building. • 8+ years' post-qualification experience in an employment team
• Dual qualification and experience of employment law in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland preferred
• Deep technical knowledge across a broad range of employment areas
• Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working autonomously and dealing directly with clients
• Experience supervising junior lawyers helpful
• Experience acting for employer clients on both general advisory and employment litigation work preferred
• Ambitious, proactive, commercial and responsive approach, with involvement in marketing and business development initiatives
