Apply in confidence →A leading national law practice is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel to join an integrated international trade team in Washington, D.C. The group handles a broad range of customs, trade remedy and national-security related matters for corporate clients.
Key responsibilities include counseling on customs matters (tariff classification, valuation, free trade agreements), preparing ruling requests, prior disclosures, protests and petitions, and providing audit-defense support. Candidates should also have experience advising on tariffs imposed under IEEPA, Section 232 and Section 301.
Experience with export controls and sanctions (EAR, ITAR, OFAC), licensing, voluntary disclosures, enforcement defense and CFIUS-related national security work is valued but not required. The practice seeks candidates with strong academic credentials and excellent verbal, analytical, writing and interpersonal skills. All applicants will be considered.
- Significant experience in customs law and related trade matters (ruling requests, disclosures, protests, audits)
- Familiarity advising on tariffs under IEEPA, Section 232 and Section 301
- Export controls/sanctions and CFIUS experience preferred
- Strong legal research, drafting and client-counseling skills
- Relevant law degree and bar admission
